President Bush spoke today about an Executive authorization to allow monitoring of phone calls by suspected terrorists within the nation to overseas locations (Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Syria, Iran, and Indonesia). The fact that the very existence of the monitoring program was leaked is treason plain and simple. The person or persons responsible for leaking a secret program by the NSA to monitor overseas calls from suspected terrorists is on par with the leaking of information that allowed Al Qaeda to modify it’s practices to inhibit out intelligence by use of cellular and satellite phones. We’ve lost another weapon for use against terrorists because of someone’s political self interest. Those who would benefit by this information being leaked are the Democrats.
We must stop tiptoeing around this issue, and start prosecuting people for treason when treasonous acts occur. Every instance of this administrations proposals to curtail terrorism, either by war, intelligence, financial or law enforcement intervention has been blocked or ridiculed by the Democratic Party, for no other reason than political gain. If anyone said that we were safer by broadcasting secret programs to the terrorists by Republicans, there would be hell to pay. The Democrats have got the GOP punch drunk I think, as it doesn't appear that anyone in either the administration or Democratic party will take the hit for the leak. I think that all Americans would do well to remember the old WWII adage “loose lips sink ships”. Those that perpetrated the loss by leaking intelligence or those that turn a blind eye to this behavior are putting not only our military in peril but our nation, and should be dealt with harshly.

Democratic Detractors in our midst
Dear Senators,
It appears that at this juncture there are only a small handful of people within the Democratic Party with any foresight. Sen. Joe Lieberman is one such. Over the last six years with media complicity you have denigrated our military and the very fiber of America, by undermining the elected leadership and questioning its motives for partisan reasons.
This President was elected on the premise of his ability to bring both parties into agreement. But the rancor with which his agenda and motives has been met exceeds any and all good taste. You should be ashamed. It’s high time that we set the differences aside for the good of the country, and for foreign policy. We need to present a united front against Islamic terrorism, as well as countries that would treat with them out of self interest (re: France, China, Russia). Four years is too little time to accomplish a complete victory on terrorists, it is also too little time to do aught but lay the groundwork for a policy which fosters democracy and free elections as well as starving the forces who prey on religious and social disharmony. The only way to do this is to have continuity of thought and enough foresight to carry it through successive administrations (both Democratic and Republican).
There are those who would say that Iraq is un-winnable, former military men who in their declining years have lost sight of the objective. Senators Murtha and McCain come readily to mind. Worse yet, there are those who would sacrifice the good name of our military and undermine morale to further political aspirations. I point out that this would give encouragement and a tactical advantage to our enemies by way demanding a redeployment date from our leaders. We must stay until we are finished. I submit that the current administration has from the outset furnished the opposition with a firm set of ground rules for withdrawal. 1) Free Elections, a Constitution 2) Trained representative Iraqi police force 3) a military. As these objectives are met our military will come home, not before. Anything less than complete victory is unacceptable. If we leave before the job is done it would be catastrophic, not only for the country of Iraq, but the entire Middle East as well as the West. We must stem the tide of Islamic world hegemony. As it has been proven as anti Christian, anti West, and anti Law. Islam is a religion that states anyone who is an infidel must be killed or must pay jizya (protection money). This is not a “religion of peace”, and the sooner we as Americans come to realize this the better we will be armed for a foe who would rather see us dead than worshipping Jesus Christ.

Open Letter to DNC Chairman Howard Dean

Dear Mr. Dean,
In your recent letter to your followers you say "Americans deserve to hear an exit strategy in Iraq and a plan to restore our moral leadership in the world." I submit: (if you would pay ANY attention to the elected administration) that the exit strategy is very clear and has been enumerated from the outset. To wit, When the Iraqi police/defense force is able, our folks come home.
As for the abandoned search for the head of Al Qaeda, you must be a huge knuckle head not to know the immense resources available to this organization and that once targeted he is that much harder to find. Plus you put him in a heavily tribal pro Islamic area of Pakistan and there are that many more layers of protection for him.
Your shortsightedness and unwillingness to make the hard choices appeasing the masses is to your detriment and that of the country. And it has and will continue to be the bane of your party. I suggest you pull your cranium from your rectum and get a feel for the real world.
Another suggestion, learn to take the long view, on the eventual defeat of terrorism, social security reform, the spread of Democracy and defense of this great nation. On the global level, the only way to end the new world scourge (Islam) is with Freedom, spelled with a capitol “F”. If you fail to see Islam for what it is, more is the pity. The enemy is not the Republican party, it is those who would tear down America and what it stands for, be they Democrat, Republican, Muslim, Atheist or Christian. Open your eyes.
In addition, stop feeding the welfare state that you mistakenly feed from the government tit. You rely on stirring racial animus between what has been traditionally your base and those who would better serve the nation. With the tsunami in the Pacific, and hurricanes here at home and earthquakes in Pakistan, there is a huge draw down of available funds for relief. If those able to work, do work and learn to contribute rather than extract. Then the world would be a better place. If you were more interested in formative and constructive dialogue as opposed to extending the status quo of the angst ridden demagogue, then this country would be back on the track to compromise which should be the watchword in Washington instead of the open hostility that exists today. If I’ve used some colorful language please excuse me as this was written in a moment of disgruntlement.
